OBX finish

Eleven glorious days on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Pea Island Beach
Oregon Inlet Beach
 Kill Devil Hills Beach
Then back to Pea Island...best shell findings!

Loads of lighthouses...
Went on a ghost tour...see the orbs?:)
Did a lot of sunset gazing...
...and wondering....
....and gasping....
....and moon rising.
Taught my neice to do English Paper Piecing!!
Ate loads of good food...especially ice cream! Our goobers!:)
There was a third finish for this quarter.
Only had time and desire for one finish even though three other projects were in my sewing bag!
Just had to do the binding...see the ocean just a block away?
Quilt's new home on the OBX...seaglass backing included!
Wish we could stay with it!
OBX... we miss you so!!

Rugs of Mug?

First official finish for 2015.
Nothing like a get together with family...sitting around chatting...eating good food...doing a little sewing....that's how to get things done!
There is still time to link up to this year's Finish Along ...other than the fact that this is great inspiration...or a kick in the butt...to get something finish there are also fabulous prizes at the end of each quarter. The more you finish the more your chance to win!
Here is a little peek of something else I finished...but can't show it all to you yet!:)

It's still really cold here...snow is still on the ground and now...ugh...we are expecting freezing rain tonight into tomorrow...
...I want to be here...don't you?:)

Sand, Sunsets, Selvedges, a Flower and a Shower!

Ahhhh...Outer Banks of North Carolina in October.....Awesome!
While climbing the largest sand dune on the east coast at Jockey's Ridge State Park we watched all the varied looks of a sunset with the girl who is home for a visit from the UK.
 What could be better?
I'm not the only one that was taking photographs.
 Looking over the Sound.
Worked on a double Grandmother's Hexy Flower....we are making kits for these at work!

Speaking of work...that was the real reason we were at the beach, so Don could remodel a bathroom and do a few other things.
He didn't get a lot of time to relax. Among the many things he worked on during our week at the beach this was the main change....from this tub/shower insert to this...

...lovely marble tiled shower!
While there I finished my Round Robin quilt....is this staged nicely enough Lynz?:) I had to wait til we returned home so I could put the couch pillows on the bed!
Yesterday I did my first selvedge blocks for Hollie at our Sew Fun Bee.  I don't think I'll be making any more because I just don't remember to save my selvedges!

Hope you've had time to enjoy a great sunset!
