Really neglected this blog....I blame Instagram! It's just too easy to post there....also our computer bit the dust and we are using a hand-me-down from our girl.  That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!:)

Wedding quilt for a London couple

"Mom...I need a wedding quilt for my friend Jen."
"You know...the one that lives in London."
"She's getting married in Scotland and I'm a bridesmaid!!"
(Bride went to West Virginia University, Groom to Purdue)
"I know you can think of something!"
Think,...think...think...lightbulb!
(Thanks for the tea towel Lynz!)
The fun is this weekend!
Quilting by my pal Kathleen of "Life in Pieces"
Pillowcase for easy quilty storage!:)  It's not easy finding a background fabric that
looks good with WVU and Purdue colors!
Books brought our girl and Jen together....she's the reason for her going to Oxford Brookes for her masters and staying in the UK for 3 1/2 years!
Leftovers.  The End!
Still haven't touched this yarn...one day!

Using a border print

Love border prints. Usually the first thing that comes to mind is *make the girl a skirt*~that's my mind talking...it never shuts up!
(Little square of fabric on the left is the center cut off from the middle of the border print)
When I first saw this border print I thought of my mom-in-law cause these are her colors!
Wanting to keep this finish simple just one other fabric was added.
Flying geese away!
A little machine quilting....a little hand quilting inside the geese...
...a 57th wedding anniversary runner is done!
Happy Anniversary to the best in-laws around!! xoxo
Cute octuplet of pots....guess I could have rinsed off the red pots!!

Makes with the leftovers from Angled Frames!:)

Leftover bits makes....said they were coming and here they are....finally!
Above are the half square triangles (hst) that I stitched from the cut ends of the Angled Frames quilt tops made for the Round 15 at Old Red Barn Co. Quilt Along.
Want to see some makes?
One of our customers made a couple of pillows from the two quilts she donated to our 2014 Quilt Drive.
Another customer made this adorable stuffed Kitty Cat from her leftovers. So sweet.

Below are my makes!:)
I call this mini "Flying West" cause after working so hard to get the border pieced in the same direction I realized I had the center facing left!:)
"Limeade" had more hst because I used fat quarters...bonus!:)
A long Humbug bag now hold my supplies for the mixed media class I'm taking online.
Can't wait to start!
Was going to make two boxy bags but got lazy and made one a wedge.  Love zippy bags!

But my favorite make was a gift for my dear mother-in-law.
A clothespin bag....I want one too!!!:)
Springtime in D.C.
Hope you're having great weather too!
Now let's see what you made with the leftover bits...make sure to post your photos in the
