Happy New Year everyone! I am so pleased and honored to be starting the new year leading Round 9 of the Old Red Barn Quilt-Along....thanks bunches for your confidence in me Dana!! So here it is......Variations on a Theme....and the theme is ...
This wonderful way of using your scraps was invented by that quilting guru Amanda Jean of Crazy Mom Quilts!
Here is a link to AJs tutorial on Sew, Mama, Sew! What I am going to do is show you a way to easily make a bigger one and lots of variations....sort of like my Frame Me quilt....but of course done the right way!!
On Monday, Jan 3rd, I will post a supply list...which I'm sure will be pretty short since you all have most of what you need already in your sewing rooms!! I will also start this party with a giveaway at the ORBC flickr site hosted by me AND Amanda Jean!:)
So stay tuned and please....stay interested!!!;)

Cya Tuesday!
Oooh exciting. Count me in this round Dee. I'd like to make one for our spare room :)
ReplyDeleteI have so been wanting to do one of these since I saw the post on Sew Mama Sew. Thanks for being our leader! I guess until Tuesday I can at least organize the scrap box a bit.
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! I am looking to use up scraps in 2011, so this is just the ticket *snicker*, get it ticket ... ticker tape? Okay maybe not a good joke. But I am still joining in on this :)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I love the Round 9 button you made!!!!!!! Please post it on Flickr so I can steal it. :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteThanks all for your kind comments. I feel much better about my choice for this round!!;)
ReplyDeleteDana, your wish is my command....done!:)
What a great idea... I wasn't going to play but have several little sets of scraps set aside for ticker tape quilts SO guess I am in for a mini!
ReplyDeleteholy smokes!! This is gonna be awesome!
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be fantastic Dee! And all I need to do is decide on which scraps to use, good job I've been sorting them into colours!!! YAY!!!!
ReplyDeleteOoh a ticker tape quilt looks fun! I'm still a novice quilter but I think I can do that! And a great excuse to use scraps to, excellent!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to try technique, too. This will be a great quilt along! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGreat way to start the New Year! I've been wanting to try this and look forward to lots of inspiration!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quilt-a-long! Scrapbusting, and quilt-a-longing all together:)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for this to start, Dee! Looks like fun and boy, do I have a lot of fabric scraps!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to do a ticker tape quilt since I first saw AJ's tutorial on Sew, Mama, Sew. Can't wait to get started.
ReplyDeleteI'm new at quilting and entering both give aways. The Ticker Tape is darling and something I can finish. My kids would love it! I forgot to add more color in my life last year. I did for a while and still need more.I do well until February hits. :)
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I'll have to round up my own scraps and see what I have to work with.
ReplyDeleteAnd no resolutions for me. Just a few goals that will keep me motivated.
I'm so upset about this! I have been wanting to make one but don't feel ready to right now! How could you do this to me??? It's a great theme! I'll be watching at least...have fun!
ReplyDeleteYou're wonderful, Dee! I've been so excited to see what you were going to do. I LOVE this one!
